Hi, I’m Christi Rae, a parent, who is passionate about making financial literacy accessible to families.
After 25+ years building video games at companies like Microsoft Xbox, Epic Games, EA, Capcom and Sega, I found myself facing a very different challenge: How do I prepare my kid for a world where money, careers, technology, and opportunity are changing faster than ever?
That question became The Great Canadian Piggybank, a podcast helping Canadian parents raise money-smart kids.
Each episode, I sit down with financial experts, educators, authors, and thought leaders to explore practical ways families can teach kids about:
• Investing and building wealth
• Saving and budgeting
• Financial confidence
• Money psychology
• Preparing kids for an uncertain future
My goal is simple: make conversations about money easier for parents and more engaging for kids.
Before podcasting, I spent over two decades building products and leading teams in the gaming industry, including leadership roles at Microsoft Xbox and Epic Games. I learned how to create experiences that educate, entertain, and connect with people: skills I now bring to financial literacy.
I believe financial education should start earlier, be less intimidating, and focus less on becoming "rich" and more on becoming confident, capable humans.
I’m always interested in connecting with:
• Parents passionate about financial literacy
• Educators
• Financial experts
• Podcast hosts
• Conference organizers
• Organizations looking to make money education more accessible
I am not a financial advisor, and the content of this podcast is for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing shared here should be considered personalized financial advice. Every family’s situation is unique, so I encourage parents to do their own research and, when needed, consult a qualified financial professional before making financial decisions.
